The Project

Europe is rich in places of incredible
beauty: palaces, exhibition spaces and
historical houses: some are famous and
often used, others are less known but
occasionally come back to life through
specific events. Wood Arc project finds
its home in these almost forgotten,
enchanting spaces: it comes to life
slowly, in two months or longer, through
the creation of installation art that
gradually rise in harmony with the rooms
that host them.

From a museum to a cosy living room

At the beginning, few are the installations present and some of the rooms remain empty, so visitors will familiarise with the space and imagine what will be built in each room. Week by week they will be able to admire new work and witness the adding of pieces of furniture such as armchairs, sofas, plants, rugs with Kapla sets ready to play with so to encourage a “hands on” approach for children and adults collaboratively.
Thus, the space slowly drifts away from a museum and changes into a warm, welcoming living room where people can “hang out” surrounded by the installations.

FINAL EVENT

The apex of WoodArc experience is the final event: a day fully dedicated to workshops led by the artist in which both adult and children can experiment and create their own installations.
In the evening the most imponent work by the artist will be demolished by the audience: the moment is always open to the public and broadcasted online, on social media.

ACTIVITIES

Workshops for schools or groups are available for the entire duration of the exhibition: participants will have a chance to experiment and then demolish a large structure.
All activities are led by the artist, they last two to three hours and are suitable for primary and secondary schools.
